I'm often asked about types of content for crafting a content strategy. Obviously Gibson Girls Marketing is available to help you even further, but this video really does give you some great ideas about ways to incorporate content for your customers into your marketing efforts online. Enjoy.
The best types of content that attracts customers. In this video, I'm gonna share with you guys how to create a blog or content that attracts thousands of potential customers, and not have you waste time. I know lots of you will be like, if I create all this content, what if I don't have the time to continue doing it, so I'm inconsistent? Or what if I spend all this time writing content that doesn't actually attract my ideal customer, just is interesting and fun and entertaining and gets shared, or what if I can't find the time to even write in the first place? Well, what I want to share with you in this video is what I've learned building blogs, content strategies. You know, when I started my company Flowtown, we went within the first six months of starting this blog to attract marketing customers from zero to 350,000 unique visitors a month. Now I know you're going whoa, whoa, whoa. I don't need that much traffic. I would be happy with 100 people a week reading my blog. And I get it. So what I want to share with you guys is the way I think about the types of content that attracts ideal customers, because if you think of this, I'm gonna give you several, this is the information that not only is interesting and relevant, but it will actually get the customer in the mindset of buying from you. So the first type of content is challenges they encounter in their day. Think about it. Your ideal customer goes through their day and they're running through challenges, and many of them are very unique for their industry. Your responsibility is to sit down and try to understand those, and write blog posts to help them overcome those challenges. So that's numero uno. Number two is how to achieve a result, right? So it's not just a how-to article, but it's actually, I need to get this result as a customer of yours, and it might not even be a service that you specifically offer, but this is my challenge, this is the result I want. Can you help them? Can you craft it? Can you do the research? Can you write the article that helps them get that result? Number three is biographies. You know, there are other people in their industry, especially if you focus on a very niche industry, entrepreneurs, customers, companies, that are interesting, that you should be writing about so that you can inspire your customer base, or your potential customers, to be aware of your company, and then go a little bit deeper and try to ask like, well, I really like what they wrote about here, I wonder if they can help me achieve that kind of outcome? So biographies is a great way to do it. So that's number three. Four is opinion pieces, right? So maybe there's a specific process. Lean startup, or Six Sigma, or whatever, quality, or there's just a strategy in your industry that everybody's talking about. You can actually dissect it and write an opinion piece on that. Maybe there's a trend in the industry. Opinion pieces are great because...
